Peacock feathers became a theme for the wedding decorations, inspired by a few peacock feathers Teresa inherited in one of grandma Isabel's houseplants. The feathers were jauntily displayed for several decades in the livingroom of the farmhouse, before being passed on to me. I was looking for a 'theme' (those awful wedding magazines bullied me into it...) and I like the brilliant hues.

I asked my beautiful bridesmaids and luscious ushesses to dress in cobalt blue, in any style of their choosing. Many of the vases on our reception tables were cut from Riesling wine bottles, also colored cobalt. Nick asked his guys to wear blue shirts, which they were happy to do, but apparently they had to be cajoled into wearing pants. And I don't mean that they wanted to wear shorts; they threatened to go without anything on the bottom half of their bodies. Silly boys. But didn't we all look good!?
Thank you to Teresa's mom Mary for her arrangements of corsages, boutonnieres, and bouquets.
